As a child, I loved to draw and color; but watercolors seemed too insipid. Now, however, I’m obsessed with the fresh, clear look of transparent watercolor; and have found that the paper choice is crucial. Brushes don’t matter much, and most professional grade paints are fine; but it is critical to use a quality, all-cotton paper-- either imported from France or handmade locally by TwinRocker. And occasionally, for fun, I also paint on Yupo, a new archival plastic surface developed for art: the slick surface encourages runs, bleeds, blossoms, and incredible, unique effects. Also the Yupo helps loosen me up for the freer, more expressive, semi-abstract look which I have been cultivating. I hope you enjoy my paintings on this website, and am very interested in hearing your opinions and questions. Becky Brody
